In 1989 Novak introduced their first high-frequency ESC, the Novak 828-HV a high voltage speed control. This was based on a new custom IC for digital control of the speed control functions. One year later the M1c was introduced, a racing type ESC with same digital technology again but also the first Novak ESC with embedded current limiter.
Beside the M1c there was also a larger version with two rows of FET-transistors, the MXc. This was intended for high current applications as trucks or oval racing.
