After starting business in 1986 Hobby Products International (HPI) was selling motors, wheels and tires as early products. Later also option parts for Associated RC12L and RC10L series pan cars and Tamiya F1 and touring cars. In 1994 the Super F1 was introduced as HPI´s first car ever and available as Graphite and Fibreglass kit. Looking similar to other F1 cars from further distance you could find new, interesting details at a closer look. The frontend was a double A-arm type and the rear suspension was using a triple pivot system instead of the usual t-bar design. Both being used in similar type at all other HPI pan cars afterwards. Also the Super F1 was the first RC Formula car using same type of wheels as the Pro10 pan cars, so much more choice on tyres and wheels than with other Formula cars.
